This year's gathering will be held in the 'Ancient and Historic ' burgh town of Haddington.
LBPS members Stewart Gaudin and Bob Low both did well playing those other, larger, somewhat more Highland pipes last week when they picked up prizes in the National Piping Centre's "Competitive League for Amateur Solo Pipers" (C.L.A.S.P.) contests held during Piping Live 2014.
beginning 10th September, 2014
For anyone interested in learning to play scottish smallpipes, the Edinburgh based Scots Music Group is offering a class for beginners. Taught by Ben Miller the class will begin on Wednesday 10th September, at Boroughmuir High School, between 7.00 and 9.00 pm and run for 12 weeks.
We are very sorry to announce the death of Jim Buchanan, who died after a brief illness on August 1st. Jim served tirelessly on the LBPS Committee for many years, both as secretary and Chairman. He attended nearly all the Society’s events and was much loved by all who met him; his warmth, geniality, wit and enthusiasm were infectious. He was happily married to Ann and was enormously proud of their three daughters and their grand children. He will be sadly missed.

The notation for these is published in Common Stock for December 2013 and in the LBPS publication '30 Years of LBS Tunes' available HERE
