2014 Annual Collogue

Town House, Haddington, East Lothian, Saturday 1st November

This year's gathering will be held in the 'Ancient and Historic' burgh town of Haddington.

'LBPS Members Triumph at Glasgow 2014

LBPS members Stewart Gaudin and Bob Low both did well playing those other, larger, somewhat more Highland pipes last week when they picked up prizes in the National Piping Centre's "Competitive League for Amateur Solo Pipers" (C.L.A.S.P.) contests held during Piping Live 2014.

New Beginners’ smallpipes class - Edinburgh

 beginning 10th September, 2014

For anyone interested in learning to play scottish smallpipes, the Edinburgh based Scots Music Group is offering a class for beginners.  Taught by Ben Miller the class will begin on Wednesday 10th September, at Boroughmuir High School, between 7.00 and 9.00 pm and run for 12 weeks.

Local Groups for Bellows Pipers

The growing numbers of pipers playing bellows pipes across the UK and beyond has resulted in a renewed interest in the idea of the formation of local groups to meet together for playing, sharing experience and general encouragement.

Annual Collogue 2012 Videos

This year's Collogue gathering in Edinburgh proved to be a memorable one. The morning's talks by Will Lamb, Mike Katz and David Taylor were stimulating and entertaining; a full report will be included in the December issue of Common Stock. The afternoon's entertainment consisted of performances on pipes and fiddle by a remarkable line-up of players assembled by Hamish Moore.
