Cuddy Claw'd Her is one of the NSP suggestions for September, so let's go for that; versions in Dixon's ms [see The Master Piper] and in Peacock; also a brilliant version in the Bowie fiddle MS which was printed in the first edition of 'The Master Piper' but diidnt survive into the latest edition; I'll try and get these added to the Resources page ...

This month I decided to record the Scottish smallpipes made by Addison. I recently acquired them from ebay, but they needed a new bag and some other fettling. The tune is Dixon's setting.

Well, I didn't play it exactly right either, but it's an ongoing process. I thought it best to wait till I had an acceptable NSP recording and then I'll post both. Thanks!

Here are three modern hornpipes played on a new practice chanter I just received today from Roddy MacLellan. Okay, it needs a drone.

Here are three triple hornpipes played on a SSP. The chanter was made by Mike Sharp of California, while the drones were made by Addison of Shropshire. The tenor drones have the original brass body, cane tongue reeds from thirty years ago.

For November three wedding tunes in 6/8 from Pete Stewart's great book WELCOME HOME MY DEARIE, page 111. The tunes are "The Feet Washing" and "The Bride has a Bonnie Thing" I and II, although I took some liberties with the bride. ;-)

The December 2011 Tune of the Month: "Christimass Time in the Morning" paired with another tune(s). The pipes are in G and do not take kindly to ornamentation, especially of the more elaborate sort.
