New Music Competition

The Lowland and Border Pipers Society announces a new competition
The competition is open to all.
It offers a first prize of £250 with second and third prizes of £150 and £100.
No particular tune type is specified but the music should be Ďin the Lowland and Border Idiomí.
Participants are required to submit both a notated and a recorded version of their submission; no more than two tunes per entrant.
Notation and sound-files should contain no identifying information apart from a title, in order that they may be presented anonymously to the competition judges. Entries should be emailed as attachments, with an accompanying message with composerís name and contact details, to jeanniecampbell at talktalk.net or posted with an accompanying letter to

Entries must be received by 5pm on the 31st July. Judging will be by a selected panel of judges and their decision is final.
The winning entries will be performed at an Anniversary Concert to be held in Edinburgh on November 1st.
