The 2014 LBPS Teaching Weekend will be held on
February 28th - March 2nd at the Royal Hotel, Bridge of Allan, Stirling
BOOKINGS NOW CLOSED
Tutors are Fin Moore, Duncan MacGillivray and Gary West
This year’s course will explore some of the ideas in Gary West’s recent book ‘Voicing Scotland’ and I will encourage Gary, particularly, to develop his thoughts on the connection between music and the land in which it is rooted.. What better starting point than Hamish Henderson’s idea of ‘tradition’ as ‘the carrying stream’?
We have a wonderful line-up of tutors: in addition to Gary, we have Duncan MacGillivray and Fin Moore. Anyone who heard Duncan playing at Peebles will know why we are so excited to be having him. Fin is back again by popular demand.
Tuition will be on Smallpipes in A. If there is sufficient demand, classes may be arranged for Border pipes as well.
