The New Way to Melrose
A New Way to Melrose - A Selection of Tunes from around the World
The Society has been holding teaching weekends at Melrose for some fifteen years and some of the tunes taught there form the basis for this book, hence its title 'A New Way to Melrose'. Since the Highland and the Border repertoires are well represented in current publications, they are excluded from the scope of this book. What the book does is present tunes from Scandanavia to Shetland, from Quebec to Galicia and Brittany and a whole lot more; 142 tunes in all, arranged for Scottish Smallpipes and Border Pipes.

More Power to Your Elbow
The Wind in the Bellows - a handbook for teachers and students of border pipes & scottish smallpipes
The Wind in the Bellows is a logical step forward from its predecessor, More Power to your Elbow, and it is surely a step in the right direction.
While the new book focuses on the business of teaching Border pipes and Scottish smallpipes, it also develops some of the principles and proposals put forward by its predecessor; thus these two volumes are 'intimately linked'.
As all three writers in the Preface have suggested, this is yet another advance along the road of revival and re-development of the bellows pipes that have their origins in the Lowlands of Scotland and the Borders.

Gordon Mooney's Collections
Gordon Mooney's Collections of Music for Lowland and Border Bagpipes
The last twenty five years have seen a wonderful revival of interest in the music of the Borders and this is due, in no small part, to the pioneering work of Gordon Mooney. Gordon was one of the founding members of the Lowland and Border Pipers' Society which has since done much to promote the playing of 'Cauld Wind Pipes'.
Possibly the two most important of Gordon's collections of Border music were 'O'er the Border' and 'Choicest Tunes'. Both have been out of print for many years and the Society takes great pleasure in producing this combined collection. These were seminal works and deserve a place in any bellows piper's library.
The book comprises 72 pages which include settings of 95 tunes as well as comprehensive background notes.
